Motley explained most of the organization’s funding comes from restricted grants that do not cover general operations or building maintenance, and that executive leadership positions are largely paid from donation and fundraising dollars. She said the group provided shelter and nonresidential services to about 141 individuals in 2025 and stressed continuity of staffing is essential to avoid service interruptions.
Commissioners asked about fundraising and partnerships. Motley said the agency has tried various fundraising strategies and has received some small ongoing donations from local churches; commissioners suggested reengaging municipalities and city councils for funding consideration.
