Riverside Resources asks county for $85,000 to expand employment and residential supports for adults with IDD

Michelle Bill, executive director of Riverside Resources, and finance director Shanna Flack told commissioners the nonprofit provides residential and day‑program services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and requested $85,000 in county support to expand community employment and cover operating costs.
Bill said Riverside employs 37 staff, of whom 16 take health insurance through the organization, and supports 24 residential clients. She described state policy changes that expect providers to emphasize community-based supported employment rather than enclave contract work and said that transition increases staffing and transportation needs. Rising fuel costs and aging vehicles were named as drivers of the additional funding request.
Commissioners asked whether Riverside pursues donations and faith‑based partnerships; Bill said the organization has had some church contracts and is open to donations and community fundraising. Riverside said it will provide additional budget detail if the commission requires it.
