Council reviews multiple purchase orders and CIP resurfacing authorizations including $3.08 million District 6 contract

The clerk also read multiple approved purchase orders and pre-purchase orders for equipment: solar-powered radar speed signs (AllTraffic Solutions, $15,243.92), a breathing-air trailer for fire services (Sunbelt Fire), a Hyundai Palisade SUV for the police department ($48,684), side-load garbage trucks for public services ($794,530), and other storm drainage and debris removal contracts.
Councilmembers thanked the administration and engineering teams for work on the resurfacing program, noting it covers 11 areas including newly annexed areas and called the District 6 project one of the largest resurfacing efforts the district has seen. A councilmember asked about the radar-sign deployment and whether the four solar-powered units are a temporary solution; a staff member said the four are temporary stock to be used while the city pursues more permanent, hardwired installations and that the city anticipates buying more permanent signs as inventory and CIP funding allow. "These 4 are just temporary. They'll go into the stock of the traffic engineering, but I think you're gonna see us buy an inventory, probably on the next agenda of some more permanent signage," staff said.
Several other items were announced (firefighter bonus, easement acceptance for Arlington Park, concerts in Mardi Gras Park), and the clerk indicated some items would be considered for waiver and vote as part of the consent agenda.
