The Union County Board of County Commissioners on March 26 adopted Ordinance No. 865-2026, an amendment to the county administrative code creating general fees intended to offset the cost of electronic receipt transactions.
Clerk of the Board James E. Pellettiere read the ordinance title; resident Bruce Paterson asked for additional information about the specific fees being changed. First Deputy County Counsel Moshood Muftau responded that the ordinance is intended to reimburse county departments for fees incurred from credit-card transactions.
Vice Chair Rebecca L. Williams moved the ordinance for final reading and authorized the clerk to advertise it in accordance with law; the Board recorded a roll-call vote with nine members voting in the affirmative. There were no further public comments on the ordinance.
What’s next: The Clerk of the Board will advertise the adopted ordinance as required by law and departments will implement the new fee structure consistent with the ordinance language and county policies.
