Transit advocates urge Dearborn to endorse Wayne Countywide millage; several speakers ask council to pass a supportive resolution

AJ Freer and several residents also described personal difficulties getting to work, training and medical care without reliable cross‑community transit.
Council members and the mayor expressed general support for expanded transit; the mayor said he would champion the countywide effort and that Dearborn already participates in regional transit discussions. Speakers asked the council to consider a formal resolution of support to demonstrate municipal backing ahead of the August vote.
The council did not take a formal vote on a city‑level resolution at the meeting but several speakers requested the council consider adopting one to signal municipal support and encourage passage of the countywide plan.
