At the May 18 Twin Valley School Board meeting, administration recommended adoption of the proposed final 2026–27 general fund budget totaling $80,868,259 and the board approved several procedural steps toward final adoption, including posting the proposed budget for public inspection and issuing a notice of intent to adopt the final budget on June 15, 2026.
Administration presented the proposed general fund expenditure and revenue budget, both totaling $80,868,259. Board members discussed how assessed-value growth affects revenue projections, the interaction between holding or raising the millage rate and revenue, and whether the district can sustain steady budget growth. One board member said, “It’s just not sustainable to keep growing at this rate,” urging the board to continue looking for savings; administration acknowledged revenue increases from market-value growth but said those increases do not fully close the district’s budget gap.
The board moved and seconded the recommendation to adopt the proposed final budget and to post it for public inspection prior to May 31, 2026; members approved the motion by roll call. The board also approved a taxing resolution that includes a millage-related item plus a 1% earned-income and 1% transfer measure as presented, and the board approved posting a notice of public intent to adopt the final budget on June 15, 2026.
In the same meeting the board approved other routine business including personnel lists, appointments of district voting delegates to the Chester County Tax Collection Committee, nomination of a treasurer effective July 1, 2026, and a procurement for school technology hardware. Multiple board members expressed concern about long-term cost trends and asked administration to continue seeking savings ahead of the final budget vote.
Next steps: the district will post the proposed final budget for the required public-inspection period and return to the board for a final adoption vote on or after the notice date of June 15, 2026.
