Commissioners approved a resolution creating a seven‑member Solar and Data Center Citizen Review Committee and also approved joint resolutions authorizing up to $420,000 in matching funds for a Lawrenceburg Conservancy District (LCD) project.
The committee will include one commissioner and six citizen members who must be Dearborn County residents and will be balanced across pro, neutral and anti positions on solar, battery storage and data center proposals. Commissioner 7 read the committee's proposed composition and terms and the board approved Resolution 2026‑006 by voice vote.
The board also considered two joint resolutions to provide up to $420,000 in matching funds for the LCD project. The original draft limited matching funds to FEMA‑administered awards; after discussion the language was broadened to allow awards from any federal or state agency or programs they administer. Commissioners approved both joint resolutions.
Nicole Daley, planning and zoning, also announced upcoming public workshops on solar, battery and data center issues (including noise‑study results and posted materials) to be held June 2, June 18 and July 16 and available online.
