Glynn County opens public bids for magistrate courthouse roof and Northland Recreation sidewalk

Glynn County procurement analyst Nikki Thompson opened a public bid reading for two county projects and announced the bidders and amounts. The county read bids for IFB 26-036, roof renovations for the magistrate courthouse, and IFB 26-037, the Northland Recreation sidewalk project.

Thompson, who identified herself as the county procurement analyst, said the county received seven bids for the courthouse roof project and eight bids for the sidewalk project. "A bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the county website," she said, and added that the recommended award will be presented to the finance committee and then to the Board of Commissioners.

For IFB 26-036 (magistrate courthouse roof renovations) the county recorded these bids: Acme Roofing and Sheet Metal Company Incorporated (Dothan, Alabama) — $1,033,307.00; Childers Roofing and Sheet Metal (I Take A American Company LLC, Jacksonville, Florida) — $922,000.00; Kopi Lab Incorporated (Kent, Washington) — $397,000.00; Jenkins Roofing Incorporated (Tallahassee, Florida) — $997,659.00; Musler LLC doing business as Founders Maintenance and Restoration (Savannah, Georgia) — $1,405,000.00; Shore Roofing and Sheet Metal Incorporated (Jacksonville, Florida) — $1,066,000.00; and Whitco Roofing Incorporated (Altamote Springs, Florida) — no bid. Thompson stated the county received seven bids in total for IFB 26-036.

For IFB 26-037 (Northland Recreation sidewalk project) the county recorded these bids: Curb and Gutter Professionals (Jessup, Georgia) — $135,000.00; Georgia Highway Cable Barrier LLC (Conyers, Georgia) — $143,484.00; JW Oliver Construction Incorporated (Jessup, Georgia) — $91,545.00; Kemp ECS Incorporated (Vidalia, Georgia) — no bid; Southeast Asphalt LLC (Blackshear, Georgia) — $154,488.00; Swindale Construction Company Incorporated (Veil, Georgia) — $149,400.00; TJR Group Incorporated (Brunswick, Georgia) — $128,536.49; and UGMS General Contracting (Glenville, Georgia) — $83,200.00. Thompson said the county received eight bids for IFB 26-037.

Thompson reminded bidders and the public that the county reserves the right to waive technicalities and that the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee. She directed questions about the bids to her office and said procurement will post the official bid tabulation to the Glynn County website. Next steps: county staff will review bid documents for completeness and accuracy, post a bid tabulation, and present a recommended award to the finance committee before the Board of Commissioners considers final approval.
