Shikellamy board adopts several policy revisions including Title IX updates and data governance

At its March 12 meeting the Shikellamy School District board approved the second and final reading of a set of policy revisions and new policies covering nondiscrimination, student wellness and data governance.
The board carried motions to adopt proposed revisions to BP 103 (Discrimination/Title IX Sexual Harassment Affecting Students) and BP 104 (Discrimination/Title IX Sexual Harassment Affecting Staff). Trustees also approved revisions to BP 234 (Pregnant/Married Students), BP 246 (Student Wellness), and BP 610 (Purchases Subject to Bid/Quotations), and adopted proposed new policies BP 146.1 (Trauma-Informed Approach) and BP 830.1 (Data Governance - Storage/Security).
The motions for second and final reading were made by Slade Shreck and seconded by Jenna Eister-Whitaker and recorded as unanimously carried. No substantive amendments were noted in the minutes; the policies will be entered into district policy records and implemented by the appropriate administrative offices.
