The Shikellamy School District board unanimously authorized a one-year renewal of the Food Service Agreement with The Nutrition Group for the 2026–27 school year after the Cafeteria Committee reviewed projected operating costs.
The board also approved a contract with Palma Inc. for installation, materials and mechanical preparation of the existing quarry tile floor in the Chief Shikellamy kitchen at a cost of $22,975, to be paid from the Food Services Fund.
Discussion included the administration's proposal to develop and administer a student survey to gather feedback to guide future meal planning. The board directed administration to proceed with development of the survey and indicated results will be discussed at a subsequent meeting.
No changes to pricing or length beyond a one-year renewal were recorded; administrators noted Pennsylvania Department of Education rules allow up to four one-year extensions, and this would be the first of those extensions.
