At the May 20 board meeting the board clerk announced that the proposed 2026–27 budget passed with 85.11% approval. The clerk also read the results of the Board of Education election: Daniel Flynn and Renny Glasgow were identified as newly elected members and Bernice Rivera was reelected; the board moved to approve the reported election results and the motion carried.
The clerk reported that voters approved property-related propositions as well: authorizing the district to purchase 1080 Catalon Street and 80 Knotts Street and to enter a lease for 433 State Street. The board then voted to approve the election results for the record.
Following certification, Bernice Rivera took the oath of office to assume the available (longest) term as the top vote recipient. Rivera stated, "I, Bernice Rivera, solemnly swear…" and affirmed she would faithfully discharge the duties of the office. The board noted that Rivera will take her seat to fill the vacancy in accordance with the election outcome.
