Committee advances several bills: poll-worker pay, ESInet sales-tax exclusion, Dillon armory transfer, food sales-tax clarification, heirs'property measure

The Senate Finance Committee moved several items with little extended debate.

- H 35 51 (poll-worker pay): Presenter said the bill exempts poll-worker compensation from taxable income. A committee member moved the bill and it passed; the Chair recorded "Aye is 7."

- 5093 (gross proceeds of sale): Presenter explained the amendment would exclude amounts paid under contracts for emergency-services IP network (next-generation 9-1-1/ESInet) from gross-proceeds-of-sale calculations. Members called it "clean" and reported the bill favorably.

- H 55 37 (Dillon National Guard Armory): The bill would transfer the Dillon armory to the city where the tank unit is largely inactive; member testimony said the property could be repurposed for town hall or recreation uses. The committee reported the bill favorably.

- H 52 08 (sales tax for certain unprepared foods): The bill clarifies the state sales-tax exemption applies to certain unprepared foods even when USDA demonstration projects temporarily limit SNAP-eligible purchases. The committee voted the item out favorably.

- H 44 77 (heirs property transfer): The panel accepted an amendment incorporating language from a related Senate bill to broaden exemptions for intra-family transfers intended to clear title; the bill was reported favorably as amended.
