Gardner ZBA continues Walmart cell-tower case to June

The Gardner Zoning Board of Appeals on May 19 voted to continue a pending application for a cell tower proposed near the Walmart to its June meeting so the applicant can gather more information about the tower and the fall zone.
Chair Ray Lafond identified the matter as case number 20260302 and said the applicant paid the required continuance fee. A committee member moved to approve the requested continuance to June; the motion was seconded and the board voted to carry the case over.
"They're getting some more information regarding the tower itself and the fall zone," Lafond said during the meeting, explaining the reason the board agreed to delay action. No members voiced opposition to the continuance.
The board did not set a firm date for further public testimony beyond including the item on the June agenda; members said staff will notify interested parties about any required submissions or updated documents before that meeting.
