Board grants fee waiver for Nationwide Children’s Hospital diabetes fair, approves deposit

The Gahanna Parks and Recreation Board on May 28 approved a fee waiver for Nationwide Children’s Hospital to hold a diabetes family fair on Oct. 24, with the board clarifying the approval includes a deposit.
Staff described the event as a family-oriented fair running 8 a.m.–2 p.m. with booths, pop-up tents, nutrition demonstrations and resource tables for families of children with diabetes. The hospital selected the park based on site availability, staff said.
Board discussion focused on whether the deposit should be handled within the motion. A motion to approve the waiver with the deposit included passed on a roll call vote.
