Pine County previews 2026–2030 road program, reviews sales-tax collections and conducts road tour

County staff on May 12 presented a proposed 2026–2030 Road Program and reviewed sales-tax revenue collections before commissioners took a field tour of county roads.
County Engineer Mark LeBrun described the proposed 2026–2030 program, which proposes grading, reclamation, surfacing, resurfacing, culvert replacements, trail construction, mill/overlay work and bridge projects. LeBrun did not present a final project-by-project schedule at the meeting; commissioners asked staff to supply a project listing that shows which projects are complete or pending.
County Administrator Kelly Schroeder reviewed collections to date from the county’s 2022–2035 sales-tax program, reporting $8,013,818.24 collected so far. Schroeder noted collections will cease when cumulative collections reach $17,400,000 or on Dec. 31, 2035, whichever occurs first.
Following the presentations, commissioners, the county engineer, the assistant county engineer and the county administrator departed the courthouse at 9:16 a.m. for a road tour of various Pine City area roads and returned at 10:16 a.m. No formal votes were taken on the multi-year program or the sales-tax schedule during the meeting.
