John Shaffer said he favored the additional spindles and taller railings, calling them "more authentic." Commissioners discussed materials: most of the porch and spindles will be wood, with metal guardrails at the stairs. The applicant explained the change responds to building-code requirements for railing height and spacing.
Elizabeth made the motion to approve the proposed changes; Shaffer seconded. The chair called for a vote and members affirmed the motion (ayes), after which Warner stated, "Motion carries."
The action was a formal approval of the alteration as presented; commissioners did not record conditions or amendments beyond the applicant's commitment to the indicated materials and to meet building-code requirements.
