Benton County approves LOSST gift to Van Horne Fire Department for new fire truck

The resolution notes the department submitted invoices totaling $521,797.67 for the vehicle and that the county’s contribution represents 10% of that total. The board recorded the vote as unanimous: Supervisor Ronald J. Tippett moved, Supervisor Bruce Volz seconded, and all voted aye.
County officials said the funds are to be used when necessary for rural fire protection and life-support operations consistent with LOSST purposes. The board did not discuss alternative funding sources at the meeting.
