Commissioners used the latter portion of the May 20 meeting to review several local appointments and parks and recreation items.
Chair reported an application from Emma Kesner for an Economic Development Authority opening and noted that Aaron Close will resign from the parks and recreation board effective July 1, creating a vacancy. Commissioners said they will restructure scoring criteria and set written parameters for board appointments before the next meeting.
Separately, the commission noted the reopening of a local fishing area in the industrial park, describing two ponds with a floating dock, parking and a walking path. Chair said the county contributed about $1,500 for fish stocking. Commissioners discussed seeking additional at-large and agricultural representation for boards and ensuring meetings have quorum participation.
No formal votes on appointments were recorded on the transcript; staff said they will bring recommendations to a future meeting.
