Funding and MFT: The board approved an allocation of $295,500 in Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds for design work on the 2026–27 street program, noting statutory limits on eligible MFT uses.
Intergovernmental agreements: The board renewed intergovernmental agreements with the Village of Hillside for prisoner detention services and for emergency dispatch (Proviso Central Dispatch), and reentered a multi‑year agreement with the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal for elevator inspection services. Staff said the dispatch and fire‑marshal arrangements are routine and involve no direct cost changes to the village.
Appointments and oaths: The board approved several personnel actions and appointments. Trustee Terrence Jones was appointed to the Broadview‑Westchester Joint Water Agency (roll call included one dissenting vote from Trustee Van). Linda Jones Woodley was appointed and sworn in to the Senior Commission. The board also appointed Jim Novosel as the village ADA coordinator to serve as the point of contact for ADA complaints and coordination.
Procedural note: The consent agenda passed with the removal of one minutes item (6B) for amendment; the board then moved to adjourn to executive session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(6) to discuss assigning a price for sale or lease of public property.
What happens next: Staff said contractors will be scheduled to begin work as weather and scheduling permit; the MFT-funded design work will proceed per IDOT/IDR guidance; the board will meet again for budget work and to continue ongoing project oversight.
