Greeley County commissioners approve routine claims, accept mower bid and hold executive session on possible litigation

The Greeley County Board of Commissioners on April 28 handled routine administrative business, accepted a sealed-bid sale of a county mower and moved into an executive session to discuss possible litigation.
Commissioner Joe Leslie moved to waive the reading and approve the April 14, 2026 minutes and to approve payroll and claims; Dennis Wadsworth seconded and the board voted unanimously. The minutes list payroll and benefit totals including general fund salaries of $37,901.42 and road fund salaries of $17,382.78, plus vendor claims such as First Concord Benefits $1,528.86 and Inclusion Solutions $1,869.05.
Treasurer Mary McGuire presented a list of pledged collateral held with First National Bank of Ord (Greeley branch); Wadsworth moved to approve the pledged collateral list, Leslie seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Jordan Foltz opened sealed bids for a 2018 John Deere ZTrak mower; bids recorded were Keith Buck at $550 and Bob Thompson at $675. Commissioner Wadsworth moved to accept the $675 bid from Bob Thompson; Leslie seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Sheriff Deaver provided an update that the new patrol unit is expected to be equipped and ready for service by mid-May. Assessor Gerri Behnk requested temporary use of the county Tahoe for review duties; Chairman Foltz asked to be notified if a vehicle is needed before the patrol unit is ready.
At 9:45 a.m. the board entered executive session to discuss possible litigation with County Attorney Joe McNally; the session concluded at 10:12 a.m. The minutes report no public action resulting from the closed session. The board adjourned at 10:13 a.m. and scheduled its next regular meeting for May 12, 2026.
