Trustees reviewed draft language based on neighboring municipalities and, for the solar law, model language from NYSERDA. The nuisance alarm draft would create a permitting and alarm-company reporting process and appeals to court; trustees discussed requiring multiple emergency contacts for alarm response but concluded the proposal's three-contact requirement was not excessive given late-night response issues. On irrigation systems, trustees agreed application fees will be placed on the municipal fee schedule — allowing fee changes without amending the local law.
Trustee 4 moved to schedule a public hearing on "local law number 3 of 2026, nuisance alarms; local law number 4 of 2026, irrigation systems; and local law number 5 of 2026, Solar Systems," to be held on June 1, 2026; the motion was seconded and carried. Staff will post the drafts and notice of the public hearing on the village website and include fee schedule details prior to the hearing.
