Three candidates—Clay Evans, Liza Hadden and Campbell Sutton—introduced themselves and answered brief questions. Hadden, who identified herself during her remarks as a year‑round resident with planning commission experience and real estate credentials, received votes from the combined body and was appointed by an 8‑to‑1 margin when votes from both bodies were tallied aloud by the presiding official.
The planning board chair reminded the appointee to be sworn in before her first official meeting. Select Board members thanked all applicants for stepping forward and noted that the appointment will be formalized with necessary administrative steps.
This appointment follows the statutory procedure for filling interim vacancies and carries until the next town election, at which point the seat will be decided by voters for the remainder of the term.
