Westchester board approves paperwork to include 2025 microsurfacing in IDOT motor-fuel-tax audit

The Village of Westchester Board of Trustees on Jan. 13 approved paperwork to include the village’s 2025 microsurfacing expenditures in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) motor-fuel-tax (MFT) audit.
Steve from public works described the item as “just the paperwork for the state” that records engineering and construction costs for the microsurfacing program and ensures those MFT funds are audited by IDOT. The vote was described as administrative: the paperwork confirms what the village said it would spend and what it actually spent.
Trustees moved and seconded the measure without further discussion. In a roll-call vote the board recorded "Aye" votes from Trustee Benline, Trustee Cross, Trustee Jones, Trustee Marzano, Trustee Slaback, Trustee Van and President Greg Reebel; the motion passed.
President Greg Reebel noted the filing will be included in the village’s annual MFT audit. Public works staff said the paperwork is necessary so IDOT can verify the funds were spent properly.
The board took the vote during its regular session at Village Hall. No changes to the microsurfacing project or additional funding approvals were announced at the meeting; staff presented the vote as a compliance step for the MFT audit.
