Wayne County board awaits state review of Highland farm application; Giles farm expected before state in April

At its Feb. 18 meeting at the Park Street Complex, the Wayne County Agricultural Land Preservation Board heard that a pending Highlands farm preservation application is awaiting state legal review and that another application is expected to be presented to the state board in April.
"We are awaiting legal review from the State regarding the partnership agreement between William R. Bryant and R. Zachary Bryant," staff member Jessica Yoder said, describing the status of the Highland application.
The board’s minutes identify the two applicants by name and show that review of the partnership agreement is the outstanding item the board is tracking. Jessica Yoder told members the Giles farm application is anticipated to be presented at the State’s board meeting in April.
The matters were discussed under the board’s unfinished business for the 2024 farm applications; no formal board action was taken on either application at the Feb. 18 meeting. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for March 18, 2026, when members may receive additional updates or consider administrative motions related to these applications.
