At the meeting, the RSU 22 board approved the warrant to call and present the 2026–27 school-year budget and signed the required documents containing 23 articles that will be submitted for the district vote. The superintendent reviewed the packet structure and noted articles 1–11 address routine cost centers, 12–14 concern raising funds, 15 is the budget summary, 16 authorizes adult education, and 18–23 cover reserve accounts and career-technical education allocations.
A motion carried to approve the proposed 2026–27 school-year budget as presented. Board members signed the five required carbon-copy documents for the warrant as part of the process; administration said copies will be kept in the district office and each town will retain its respective copy.
The board also unanimously approved a late-submitted out-of-state trip: the Samuel L. Wagner Middle School eighth-grade trip to Six Flags in 2026. Administration acknowledged that out-of-state trips ordinarily require approval by the second semester but said the timing made delay impractical and that the trip is parent-sponsored.
Separately, the board accepted the superintendent’s slate of administrative contracts for 2026–27 and approved nominations moving probationary teachers from year one to year two and from year two to continuing contract; motions carried unanimously.
Finally, the board announced the district budget meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. in the Hampton Academy gymnasium and noted that while a quorum is not required for the budget meeting, board presence is preferred for optics.
