Board denies Eric Olson rezoning request from agricultural to light industrial

The Emmet County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously May 12 to deny a rezoning request from Eric Olson seeking to change a parcel from A-1 Agricultural to I-1 Light Industrial.
Chairperson Lisa Hansen opened the public hearing; no comments were filed in the auditor's office. Planning consultant Steve J. Hallgren explained the permit process and the fact that the Emmet County Planning and Zoning Commission had denied the requested reclassification. Rich Blinkmann attended as a Planning and Zoning committee member.
Supervisor Jeff Quastad moved and Supervisor Tim Schumacher seconded denial of the rezoning request. A roll-call vote recorded all five supervisors voting in favor of denial.
The meeting record does not show conditions attached to the denial or any immediate appeal filed at the meeting. The board closed the public hearing prior to the vote.
