Norwalk hearing officer closes Elmwood Avenue citation after compliance

Deputy zoning inspector Ian Hall told the hearing that unpermitted sheds previously encroaching on the setback had been moved, driveway and unpermitted parking issues had been resolved and a Belgian-block curb had been added to prevent future unpermitted parking. "According to us and my determination, the violation is gone, and they have worked with me," Hall said, adding he recommended disposing of the matter "without a fine." Maslin accepted that recommendation and closed the case without imposing a penalty.
The matter had been before the hearing officer earlier in the year; Maslin noted the case had a history on the docket and that staff had inspected the property recently to confirm remediation. No testimony was offered by the property representatives at the May 20 session.
The closure means no fine will be levied in the Elmwood matter, and no further action was announced at the hearing.
