Nonprofits tell Hamilton County they are owed ERAP reimbursements; county staff recommend resubmission

At the June 6 Hamilton County ARPA Committee meeting, Nancy Chance of Good Samaritan Network reported her organization submitted emergency rental assistance (ERAP) reimbursement claims to the Westfield Washington Township Trustee totaling $30,487.53 but has not been reimbursed. "They submitted reimbursement claims to the Westfield Washington Township Trustee for emergency housing assistance in the amount of $30,487.53, they have yet to receive that reimbursement and are unable to receive an explanation for the non-reimbursement," Chance said.
County Attorney Sullivan and Auditor staff clarified this matter appears tied to the Trustee’s handling of ERAP claims rather than ARPA. Sullivan recommended that, if available ERAP funds remain, nonprofits should submit claims directly to the county for reimbursement. Todd Clevenger, Auditor Grant Administrator, said the Auditor’s office has not received Quarter 3 and 4 claims from the Trustee and asked that organizations send their documentation directly to him for processing.
Commissioner Christine Altman said the Commissioners should request documentation of unpaid claims from the Trustee and noted that the county may need to step in if trustee staff do not respond. The committee agreed the county would process eligible claims once proper documentation is received. No immediate county reimbursement was announced at the meeting.
