Hamilton County committee signs contract for outside ARPA closeout reporting

Auditor Robin Mills asked the American Rescue Plan Act Committee on June 6 to approve a consulting agreement with Baker Tilly Consulting Services for an amount not to exceed $55,000 to complete ARPA reporting and closeout work. "It is imperative that we have someone like Baker Tilly to do this reporting work as we are coming to the conclusion of closing out the ARPA funds," Attorney Sullivan said, noting frequent changes in U.S. Treasury guidance.
Mills told the committee $44,000 of the contract could be covered with remaining ARPA funds and that the Auditor’s office would use its budget to cover any shortfall. Commissioner Christine Altman moved to approve the agreement and Commissioner Steven C. Dillinger seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The contract was presented as a measure to reduce compliance risk during closeout. No contract start date or vendor deliverables were specified in the committee discussion record; Auditor Mills was directed to proceed with contracting and budgeting as discussed.
