Brighton planning panel approves Pinball Saloon permit to allow alcohol sales

The Brighton Planning Commission voted 5-0 on April 9 to approve a conditional use permit allowing alcohol sales at the Pinball Saloon, a business owner told the panel, to help the establishment remain viable.
Associate Planner Kim Bauer presented the application and told commissioners staff found the proposal consistent with Land Use and Development Code Section 2.07B and with the Comprehensive Plan and recommended approval. Applicant Eric Brenner described the need for alcohol sales to help the business succeed. There were no questions from commissioners and no public comments during the hearing.
Commissioner Kathryn LeDonne moved to approve the resolution granting the permit; Commissioner Kylie Parks seconded the motion, which passed by a 5-0 vote. Earlier in the meeting, the commission approved minutes from its Feb. 26, 2026 meeting by the same margin.
Assistant Director Shannon McDowell reported that the Planning Commission will have a Joint Study Session with the City Council on April 14, 2026 and summarized recent items referred to City Council. Chair Mark Rawlings adjourned the meeting at 6:26 p.m.
The commission record shows staff recommendations cited Land Use and Development Code Section 2.07B and the Comprehensive Plan; the resolution and any required permitting or licensing steps now proceed through administrative channels.
