School board adopts proposed fee increases for 2026–27 after brief public hearing

Jonathan Balz, the district’s business operations director, told trustees the proposal — which affects breakfast and lunch prices and some facility rental fees — had been published in the Idaho State Journal for two weeks and was unchanged from what the board reviewed at a recent work session. "Nothing has changed from what we reviewed last week," he said.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After a brief acknowledgement that the item had been discussed previously, a trustee moved to adopt the fee schedule and the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
Balz said the district will publish the budget summary and related materials by the end of next week as the board prepares for its June 16 budget hearing. The district’s draft general fund (fund 100) is nearing completion; Balz said the fund is "about $120 million," with medical insurance represented as the largest benefits line at roughly $14.3 million.
The board’s action adopts the fee schedule for the coming school year; staff will implement the changes and include them in final budget documents and communications to families.
