Assessment board postpones two items, accepts stipulations and withdrawal calendar

The Tulare County Assessment Appeals Board voted to postpone two agenda items, accepted a package of assessment stipulations and approved the withdrawal calendar during a routine meeting.

Committee member (speaker 3) moved to postpone items 5 and 7 to the Aug. 20 meeting; Chair (speaker 1) seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. The board then called parties forward for item 8, and staff read stipulations described in the record for multiple applications associated in the transcript with Grand Eye Screen, Inc.

Staff (speaker 2) read assessment line items for application numbers 2023-00264 through 2023-00267, including land, structure, fixed improvement and personal property values and net taxable values for each application. For example, application 2023-00264 was read with a land value of 984,594; structure improvements 14,359,302; fixed improvements 48,936,445; personal property 2,096,493; and a net taxable value read into the record of 66,376,834. The assessor's stipulation for item 8 was moved for acceptance by Committee member (speaker 3) and seconded by Staff member (speaker 5); the board approved it by voice vote.

Later in the meeting Committee member (speaker 3) moved to accept the withdrawal calendar as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. With no further business, the Chair adjourned the meeting.

The board did not discuss changes to tax policy or set any new deadlines at this session; the actions primarily updated assessment records and managed agenda timing.
