During discussion of first-reading items, staff described resolution 34 as a reclassification of an existing position to ‘accounting assistant’ with updated responsibilities and said resolution 35 updates nonbargaining employee position placements on the district pay scale.
The policy committee presented proposed changes including an annual review of the district emergency preparedness and response plan to avoid duplicated authorities and a proposed change to school website contact information that would remove staff email addresses and replace them with telephone and fax numbers to reduce spam and protect IT security. Director Carlo summarized a proposed resolution requiring Freedom of Access Act training for superintendents and assistant superintendents, to be completed “no later than 120 days after the assumption of their position.”
Director Kreutz presented resolution 24 (a comprehensive guidance plan) for second reading; the board voted by roll call with nine yea votes and carried the motion.
Several items were presented as first readings with staff noting no net increase in positions for some reclassifications and that some responsibilities (for example, transportation training) had been combined with the assistant director position to reduce redundancy.
