Chapel Hill expects BRT grant submission; Morgan Creek Greenway and Staffing Study updates noted

During project sponsor updates at the Jan. 21 Orange Staff Working Group meeting, Chapel Hill reported the federal risk review for its bus rapid transit (BRT) project is nearing completion and a formal grant submission is anticipated in February. The minutes record: "Chapel Hill – BRT federal risk review nearing completion and formal grant submission anticipated in February."
Carrboro updated the group that the Morgan Creek Greenway project is progressing and that minor project worksheet revisions are forthcoming. Triangle West reported it will release a Staffing Study RFQ, with contract execution contingent on confirmed funding. Several jurisdictions, including Hillsborough and GoTriangle, reported no updates.
These updates were provided as part of the SWG’s broader administrative review of the FY27 AWP and to inform preparations for the Feb. 6 special meeting. No public comment was received at this session.
