Wright said the hospital has "over 1,400 team members, over 1,100 physicians on staff" and is a 261‑bed licensed facility with an average daily inpatient census of about 165. She highlighted clinical growth in cardiovascular services, a developing comprehensive stroke program with an expected Joint Commission designation this summer, expanded NICU capacity (daily census 23–25, flex to 30 as needed), and new neurocritical-care services.
Wright noted the hospital’s quality recognitions, including recertification of Magnet nursing status with no nonconformities and a CMS five‑star rating. She described operational improvements—lower turnover rates, expanded emergency‑department triage within the existing footprint, and additions to the cancer program including new clinical trials and SRS/SBRT services. "We're fully leveraging our UChicago Medicine partnership," Wright said, pointing to growth across specialty programs and recent investments.
Trustees thanked Wright and asked a few clarifying questions. The presentation was informational; no board action followed.
