Staff schedules wildfire resiliency hearing, updates building codes and announces new planner hire; minutes approved

Lake County planning staff told the county planning and zoning body on March 23 that a public hearing on a proposed wildfire resiliency code will be held March 30 at 04:00 in the county boardroom. Staff said the draft would require construction hardening measures — noncombustible exterior materials, roof and eave protections and defensible‑space zones around structures — and would be administered through the building department with planning review for zoning and siting considerations.
