The principal described the school as "a place where every student can shine" and emphasized partnership with Desert Sands Unified.
Dozens of parents, alumni, retired district administrators and community leaders urged the board to renew the charter. Supporters credited PDCMS with strong student engagement, success with English learners, and nationally recognized extracurricular programs. A retired district administrator noted the schools high English‑learner progress figure cited in the dashboard presentation.
Board President and trustees asked no substantive policy questions during the hearing; trustees thanked presenters and community members for attending. The public hearing concluded at about 10:00 p.m.; the board will not take final action tonight and has scheduled the renewal vote for the June 9, 2026 meeting.
