Gage County board appoints Amanda Fanning as county attorney

The Board of Supervisors voted 7-0 to appoint Amanda Fanning as Gage County attorney effective Jan. 7; the appointee has worked with the board and planning and zoning staff and will be sworn in promptly.
The Gage County Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Amanda Fanning as the county attorney during its Jan. 7 meeting.
The board voted 7-0 to approve the appointment. Chair told the board that Fanning has worked closely with the board and planning and zoning staff in recent years, providing continuity as the previous county attorney nears retirement. The chair said the appointment was “highly recommended by everyone that’s worked with her here” and welcomed Fanning to the role.
The board recorded that the appointment is effective immediately; a judge will swear the appointee in as part of the onboarding process. Supervisors asked that the new county attorney review pending contracts and agenda items as they come forward.
No dissent or abstentions were recorded on the motion. The board directed staff to complete any required paperwork and to schedule the formal swearing-in.
