He said the board has approved resolutions urging the New Jersey legislature to provide short‑term emergency budget relief while the district explores "plausible long term solutions for sustainable support." "Advocacy, however, is only one part of the work ahead," he said.
The superintendent also described a new schedule of community conversations: monthly forums beginning May 26 intended to provide families, staff and residents a chance to hear updates, ask questions and share perspectives. "Open communication is essential during periods of uncertainty and transition," Dr. Pizzo said.
