The council approved a sole‑source resolution permitting the city to purchase parts and contract for servicing of Willow pumps and associated equipment directly with Correct Equipment, Inc., the region’s licensed Willow representative.
Jim Kelly (speaker 23) explained that Willow pumps are used at the city’s water and wastewater treatment plants and that replacement parts and servicing “can only be performed by a licensed Willow representative.” He said Correct Equipment is the licensed local representative authorized to service these pumps and motors.
A council member moved to recognize Correct Equipment as the authorized agent and approve a sole‑source resolution; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Council members asked about remedies if local service did not meet standards; Kelly said the city could go directly to the manufacturer in the past and that the company typically responds quickly to remedy service issues.
