Kaley Christiansen, a children’s librarian at Goleta Valley Library, invited the public to participate in the library’s 2026 Readapalooza summer reading program, which begins June 1 and offers prizes for regular reading and free events through the end of July. “This summer, you’re invited to participate in our 2026 Readapalooza summer reading program,” Christiansen said.
Kim Krayl, supervising librarian at Goleta Valley Library, described GVL Express, the library’s temporary location while the main Fairview branch is under construction. Krayl said the express site is at 6500 Hollister Avenue in Suite 105, in the white-and-turquoise building at Hollister Avenue and Los Carneros Way, with the entrance facing the Goleta Valley Athletic Club. “This tiny but mighty library has something for everyone and we’re here to help you plan your visit,” Krayl said.
Kraysl noted practical details for visitors: limited occupancy of 35 people, a small number of computer stations and seating, and parking options including marked library spaces and street parking. Staff said they brought a portion of every collection to the express site, including materials for adults, teens and children, and that patrons can pick up holds and find monthly program calendars there. For questions, Christiansen directed listeners to the library website and phone line.
