Clermont County commissioners approve vendor payments, contracts, personnel actions and multiple solicitations

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine and substantive actions on May 20, including vendor payments, contract awards, reappointments and personnel changes.
Key board actions included adoption of Resolution O62-26 authorizing vendor payments of $3,339,144.74 and acceptance of the 2025 annual roads, bridges and culverts report under Ohio Revised Code section 5543.02. The board awarded the Arrowhead wastewater treatment plant elimination contract (project 6402-60168) to Abracte Inc. for a total amount not to exceed $5,465,110 and authorized several solicitations and requests for qualifications (Items 14–17) for water/wastewater maintenance, courthouse electrical/generator upgrades, probate court HVAC and on-call design services.
The board also adopted Resolution 063-26 accepting unrestricted monetary donations and donated supplies for the county animal shelter (Jan 1–Mar 31, 2026) and approved final assessments for the Newton's Veil Collection System project (Resolution 064-27) with a 60-day principal payment period expiring July 2026 and certification to the county auditor for unpaid assessments, under Ohio Rev. Code chapter 6117.
A board action authorized execution of the State of Ohio DAS "Ohio Buys" contract for Cintas Corporation services (Resolution 065-26) allowing the county to purchase uniform and laundry services under State contract RSI 02681 (contract effective 10/23/2025–07/31/2030). The board reappointed members to the Clermont County Transportation Improvement District board for two-year terms beginning 06/21/2026. It also authorized a notice for a public hearing on the 2027 tax budget and an appropriation change adding $40,512 to sheriff investigations other expenses.
The board added two items to the agenda and approved them: a letter of support to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to terminate a lease related to East Fork State Park boat regattas, and a letter agreeing to OKI's updated FY2026 Federal Transit Administration apportionment split for the Cincinnati urbanized area; the latter passed with one commissioner abstaining due to an OKI affiliation.
After an executive session in which the chair reported no formal actions, the board approved HR items including amendments to the classification plan (adding a custodial supervisor and maintenance custodian), a revised Facilities Management table of organization (adding one custodial supervisor and nine maintenance custodians), the probationary removal/termination of Shyanna Horton (ISD executive assistant) effective 05/20/2026, and unpaid leave for Bobby Myers (JFS fiscal support coordinator) effective 05/02/2026.
