El Paso County Planning Commission elects Trowbridge chair, Whitney vice chair; honors outgoing members

The El Paso County Planning Commission opened its May 21 meeting by recognizing outgoing commissioners Becky Fuller and Chair Jay Carlson with certificates and brief remarks. Becky Fuller, who said she had volunteered on the commission for many years, joked she was running for county assessor and asked members to "vote for me" when ballots are mailed.
Later in the meeting, after staff noted two new members will be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners effective June 1, the commission proceeded with its annual officer elections. Commissioners nominated and elected Commissioner Trowbridge as chair (one abstention) and Commissioner Whitney as vice chair. The newly elected officers will serve until the commission’s next regular election cycle or as provided in commission rules.
Chair Carlson closed the meeting by thanking members and staff for their service and adjourning the session.
