A commission member moved to approve the rezoning in accordance with the attached resolution, with two conditions and two notations, and to forward the item to the Board of County Commissioners; the motion was seconded.
Two commissioners said they would vote no because they believed the rezoning was incompatible with the Black Forest area's prevailing five‑acre character and with the intent of the county master plan. The chair said the commission had received multiple letters from adjacent property owners in favor of the change, which influenced other votes.
The chair called the vote; the motion passed with seven ayes and two no votes and will proceed to the Board of County Commissioners for final action.
The commission did not take public testimony on the item at this meeting. The Board of County Commissioners will consider the rezoning at a future public meeting according to its calendar.
