At its Sept. 4 meeting the Danbury City Council confirmed several personnel actions submitted by the mayor.
The council approved the promotional appointment of firefighter James Croswell to fire lieutenant. Croswell, who has served nearly 20 years in the fire service, thanked the mayor, chiefs and colleagues and said he takes the role seriously.
The council also confirmed three entry-level police officers recommended in the mayor’s communication: Christopher Martz, Sophia Controneu and Andy Pena. The mayor welcomed the new officers and the council approved their appointments by voice vote.
Separately, Wayne Skelly was appointed citation hearing officer for the code of ordinances (term read into the record as expiring 04/01/2027), and Elizabeth Henvey was appointed to serve on the park authority. Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
These confirmations were recorded on the consent calendar and confirmed as presented; the clerk read the communications and the council approved them without further discussion.
