The Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County tabled a conditional‑use permit for 110 Stagecoach Drive at its July 2 meeting because of pending litigation.
Commissioner Jason Frost moved to table the application; Commissioner Timothy Biddle seconded. The minutes record that one commissioner abstained from the vote but do not identify which commissioner. The item was placed on the agenda for the board’s Aug. 6 meeting.
During the July 2 meeting Chairman Charles Coffey urged departments to submit any outstanding invoices immediately or risk those expenses being absorbed by the new budget; he expressed concern about what he described as poor spending practices early in the fiscal year. Vice Chairman Biddle and other commissioners discussed how raises and spending may affect the budget; the County Manager said he would follow up on requirements and provide more information at a work session.
At the July 24 work session County Manager Thomas Weaver provided brief department updates and noted issues including animal‑control euthanasia costs, a water‑department repair on Hwy 280, and road‑work priorities. The commission added reappointments (Walter Miller and Lou Beck to the IDA) and a 4‑H funding request to the Aug. 6 regular meeting agenda for action.
What happens next: The board will revisit the Stagecoach conditional‑use permit at the Aug. 6 meeting and will consider IDA reappointments and any 4‑H funding requests as part of that meeting’s business. County staff will compile invoice and budget details for commissioner review.
Clarifying details: the minutes record a rescheduled work session to 6:00 p.m. on July 22 to accommodate a CUP public hearing; the Stagecoach CUP was tabled to Aug. 6; budget invoices and reappointments were added to upcoming agendas.
