Dunn County board approves routine minutes, construction pay estimates, permits and support letters

The board approved two conditional use permits (Central Specialties and Medley Welding) and granted an annual gaming site authorization for the Kildeer Saddle Club for July 1, 2026–June 2027.
On planning matters the board approved a first reading of a mining ordinance text amendment removing an archaeology study requirement for some publicly funded mining activities; the amendment will be reviewed again and legality will be checked with the state's attorney before the second reading.
The board also agreed to submit a county nomination for the North Dakota Association of Counties recognition (nominating Carrie Boster) and approved sending a draft communication memo to employees about an upcoming classification and compensation study.
Finally, commissioners voted to send a letter of support for the University of North Dakota's application to the U.S. Department of Transportation Safe Streets for All program, a regional grant the university is leading for western North Dakota.
