Jackson DDA approves minutes, hears treasurer's report and plans First Friday, Christmas Market and other events

Treasurer Brandy Berry reported that the DDA's account balance was $15,288.47. Chairperson Laura Carter asked about a $6,000 allocation that the City of Jackson has budgeted to give to the DDA; the minutes record the question but do not record a response or any follow-up action.
The board discussed event planning for First Friday, agreeing to style the upcoming event as a Cinco de Mayo fiesta and noting plans for food trucks. Members also reviewed the recent Farmers Market and said they are still accepting vendor applications for future markets.
Carter reported a potential three-day indoor Christmas Market at Central GA EMC and discussed charging a $250 vendor fee if the venue is secured. The board approved ordering additional "Go Cups" featuring the Bicentennial logo. Members also discussed the possibility of holding another First Friday in October for a Small Town Halloween event; no final decision or budget allocation for the October proposal is recorded in the minutes.
