Red Clay Theatre reports strong attendance as renovations proceed

Eddie Owen reported to the Downtown Development Authority on May 19 that Red Clay Theatre had 11 shows and 945 attendees in April. Owen added that, to date, the theatre has hosted 2,309 shows with a total attendance of 269,550.
Director of Economic Development Chris McGahee told the Authority that renovations at Red Clay are underway and progressing smoothly. McGahee said the facility remains open to the public with regular programming and that construction work is being coordinated around performances.
The DDA also received a finance update from Assistant City Manager/Finance Director Ken Sakmar. No formal action related to Red Clay construction or funding was recorded in the minutes.
