Pelham city manager asks council to set aside 20 hours for budget workshops; dates to be proposed

The manager recommended a two-hour priority-setting session in June and proposed scheduling departmental budget presentations between Aug. 3 and Aug. 21. “We will start out with 20 total hours,” the manager said, adding that the schedule could expand if council members request more time.
Council members discussed timing and preferences; one council member said Saturdays could work for longer sessions but noted family and sports commitments. The manager suggested flexibility and asked council members to respond to the scheduling blocks Laura will send.
In the same report the manager highlighted recent community events: PelhamPalooza drew about 1,600 people after two rainouts, and Pelham High School’s class of 2026 collectively received scholarship offers totaling $17,500,000, a figure praised by council speakers.
